Thales Hawkei: New IED-Resistant Face Of Aussie Military [Military Vehicles]
Named for the Acanthophis hawkei , a deadly Australian adder, the Thales Hawkei is a compact, light-armored, 7-ton vehicle with quick-change customizable armor and an IED blast-resistant hull. It may replace the Aussie Defense Force’s aging fleet of Land Rovers. The Hawkei comes from Thales, current supplier of the much heavier Bushwacker, and is being offered on the pending contract to replace the ADF’s aging and poorly armored Land Rovers. Several Venomous Snakes...Here are a few species of venomous snake taped for you. The owner of the snakes is Christoph Studer and he was generous enough to show me his snake room. The snakes taped and photographed were: Several Crotalus species Naja nivea Naja naja Acanthophis hawkei Acanthophis antarcticus Acanthophis rugosus Hopefully soon I will have my own A.hawkei and A.antarcticus so I will be able to prepare more detailed videos. I have moved to Switzerland and I need to get my snake room back together. It should be somewhat ready at the end of December and complete by April.
